Sharing your story

Veterans are being told that their health problems are in their heads. If they persist they are frequently put on psychotropic medications that fail to address the underlying physiological need.

Sick From Serving is a place for veterans to share their stories and be encouraged, not told that they are crazy.

Please note that I do not give medical advice, I am not a doctor and cannot. I am a registered nurse however I am not offering nursing care. I am offering to try to find ways through our complex healthcare system and help you to find access to appropriate healthcare. This will be a process and I cannot guarantee an outcome but I will work to help you.

Veteran Interviews

Through sharing our stories we develop a library of interviews. This allows other veterans to see what has been tried and proven and what has not worked. We can use our stories to help other veterans not experience what we have gone through.

Showing causality across a dispersed population is not possible for the average doctor. These interviews are a library that help to show trends in our cases.

Subject Matter Expert Interviews

I look for subject matter experts who can help us. Some may share emerging technologies and treatments. Others may offer their experience and legitimize our concerns.

Your doctor can tell you that you are not in a position to explain what is medically happening to the veteran community. The ability to point to someone who is a recognized expert can help to break this barrier.
